Kenya national football Under 20 side will leave the country on Saturday morning for the first round of Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan in Khartoum.
The game will be staged at the El Merreikh Stadium in Khartoum on Sunday and the return match will be at the Nyayo Stadium on April 23.
The team under the stewardship of coach John Kamau have been in residential training as they prepare for the important game away.
“We have been working on our fitness levels so as to be more competitive but we are optimistic of good results away in Sudan.I am however happy that the fitness levels are at optimum levels, and I am more than contented with all the players selected”Kamau told Soka25east.com
Kamau trimmed his 31 man squad to 20 as Gor Mahia U19 kWN defender Eric Ouma named team captain for the assignment.
Qatar-based striker Ramadhan Katana, who was to join the squad earlier this week, was left out of the travelling party, with the former Thika United coach explaining that there was a mix up in the players’ travelling arrangement.
