Kenyan defender David Ochieng “Cheche” impresses at Swedish club Djugardens IF

Kenyan international David Ochieng is in Sweden for week long trials and as he looks to impress at top flight side Djugardens IF and has attracted praise from the club’s boss Bosse Anderson.

Andersin, speaking to Swedish site Fotbolldirekt said he has been impressed by the defender’s attributes and with the club’s skipper Emil Bergstrom heavily linked with a move to Russia, it is felt the Kenyan could be the man to slot in as replacement.

The defender arrived in Sweden on Sunday 24th January after week long trials in Denmark and Anderson confirmed he will be in the Saturday 30th January friendly match against Gefle as the club mulls over his fate.

“He has been training with us. We got an opportunity because we felt we wanted to quickly take a chance on him. He will train with us for a week.

“I have a good picture of the player. He has been in Aalborg and made a strong impression there. It is likely that he will get the chance to play on Saturday in the friendly match against Gefle.

“He looks good and could become a valuable player for Djurgarden,” Anderson noted.

Ochieng was the Kenya skipper at the 2015 Cecafa Senior Challenge.
