Harambee Stars defender Eric Ouma, is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury.
Ouma fractured his fibula on Friday while in training at his club AIK in Sweden. The defender has since undergone surgery and will be ruled out of action for at least eight weeks.
“I was sliding in an attempt to reach for a ball during training, but I unfortunately fell on my right leg with all the weight and fractured my fibula,” Ouma told Nation Sport.
“It was a painful experience but I have already undergone surgery, on Saturday, and I am happy with the progress so far. I will be discharged this afternoon (Sunday) and I am hoping to recover within the eight weeks and get back to action,” he added.
Ouma was a key member of the Harambee squad at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
He signed for AIK last year from Swedish third-tier side Vasalund in a five-year deal and has quickly won the hearts of the club’s faithful having featured in several test matches.
