Jomo Cosmos’ new striker Kevin Kimani is set to make his debut against Absa Premiership title contenders Bidvest Wits at Olen Park on Wednesday.
Kimani 26-year-old linked up with Cosmos last month , but is only available now following the completion of the necessary paperwork.
Ezenkosi boss Jomo Sono is confident the former Mathare United man will bolster his club’s bid for survival.
“Kevin Kimani will add a lot of depth because he will start playing tomorrow. He has his papers now from Kenya,” says Sono.
“He was in Scotland playing for Glasgow Rangers. He will start against Wits because he has his papers now.
“I see a bright future for us now and I think we will stay. Like I said, if we played the way we played against Orlando Pirates in the previous match not many teams will come out from Olen Park.”
On his part the soft spoken Kimani told Soka25east.com his dream was finally coming true after the issue on his work permit was finally fixed
“I have been waiting for this great opportunity and God has granted it to me, I want to thank the coach for showing great faith in my ability and I want to repay him playing good football and ensuring that I help Cosmos”
“As a footballer the dream is always to hit the ground running in your debut and that is exactly what I want to do in my first game with the help of my team mates”a jovial Kimani said
