Kenyan and African football journalist Collins Okinyo has been appointed on the CAF’s Media Experts Panel.

Collins is the only appointee from the East African region in the 12 member panel.

He thanked CAF boss Ahmad for having faith in him and for giving him the opportunity to serve the continent.

“I am happy to have been recognised by CAF President Ahmad on the new role as CAF Media expert, I promise to give my best in helping make African football better,” the former Supersport journalist said.

Collins also runs the leading source for African football news Soka25east.com.

The creation of the Media Experts Panel by CAF was part of the reforms by the new executive to replace the continental body’s Media Committee.

While working on some of CAF’s media operations, the Media Experts Panel will also serve as the media advisory body for the new leadership of CAF.

Other notable members of the panel includes, veteran Côte d’Ivoire scribe Mamadou Gaye, also known as the assassin from Abidjan.

Ghana FA assistant Secretary General and media officer Ibrahim Sannie  and Aliou Goloko of Senegal.

Collins is already in Morocco for the CHAN 2018 draws later today.
