KPL goals harvest continued over the weekend with a total of 13 goals being scored in 6 matches. The action packed weekend also saw Raymond Omondi of Thika United record the first hat-trick of the 2015 season in a 6 goals thriller match that was played on Saturday 28, 2015 at Thika Stadium against Muhoroni Youth.
Nakuru All Stars 0 – 1 Western Stima
Fredrick Shimonyo’s 56th minute goal condemned Nakuru All Stars to a third successive loss of the season while handing Stima their second win of the season in an early kick off match at the Afraha Stadium on Saturday 28, 2015. Coach Peter Okidi once again blamed lack of concentration in the defense for the loss. All Stars have now conceded 10 goals in three matches; they remain rock bottom in the KPL standings.
Ulinzi Stars 1 – 0 AFC Leopards
Ingwe as they are known tasted first defeat of the season in the hands of the wounded soldiers who had suffered a midweek defeat to Tusker FC goaing down 2-1; Boniface Onyango headed in the 6th minute opener from Ezekiel Otuoma’s cross to ensure Ulinzi take home maximum points in a match they totally dominated especially in the first half. The cash trapped Ingwe’s only real chance at goal came earlier in the 3rd minute from Emmanuel Ngama left foot shot inside the box that was properly dealt with by Ulinzi’s keeper Saruni.
AFC Leopards vocal coach Logarusic during post match interview hinted at a possible overhaul of the playing unit, saying some of his players are just passengers in the team.
Thika United 4-2 Muhoroni Youth
Tim Bryet side reigned supreme in the six goals thriller match that saw Raymond Omondi record the first hat-trick of the 2015 season. The ill-tempered match that was marred by accusations of biased refereeing saw the match being stopped in 41st minute due to crowed trouble. The match was played at the Thika Municipal Stadium. Dennis Odhiambo scored the other goal for Thika while Tony Nyangor aka Balotieno scored the Muhoroni Youth goals, second one from the spot.
Chemelil FC 1-0 KCB
The Sunday 29, 2015 early kick off match at the Nyayo stadium saw coach Mike Muiruri claim his team’s first win in this new season; David Ojuang headed home Collins Kisuya’s corner in the 42nd minute to draw first blood, KCB should have gone ahead first when Raymond Murugi was put through by Yusuf Juma in 30th minute but his effort was wasteful.
Chemelil who were generally wasteful on the day, Meshak Karani being the culprit held on to the slim lead to bag three valuable points; coach Mike Muiruri called for consistency moving forward.
City Stars 1-2 Tusker FC
Tusker FC danger man Jesse Jackson Were grabbed a brace the 9th brace of the season 2015 to condemn City to third straight loss. Red hot Were capitalized on Arthur Museve’s defensive blunder in the 3rd minute to drive home the opener, he was at it again this time from the spot ensuring the brewers head into the breather two goals up. The second half saw City Stars come back guns blazing and their efforts bore fruit in the 69th minute when Joseph Sakwa scored the consolation goal; the brewers survived constant threats from the Kawangware boys to hold on to their second win of the season.
Sony 1-0 Ushuru
Sony Sugar FC registered their first win of the season with a narrow 1-0 win over Ushuru,Coach Zedekiah ” Zico” Otieno’s boys scored the only goal of the match from Samuel Onyango header in the 67th minute. The match was played at the Awendo green Stadium.
