Kakamega Homeboyz and Mathare United were the only winners in league matches played on Sunday 5th May as they edged Kariobangi Sharks and AFC Leopards respectively.
Posta Rangers 0-0 Bandari
Posta Rangers and Bandari played to a barren draw in an early kick-off match at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Both coaches decried lost chances and said that would be their homework ahead of their next league matches.
“I think a draw is a fair result for us. I must laud my boys, despite not scoring they played really well and contained Bandari. We obviously missed a lot of chances and that is something we will work on.” John Kamau, Posta Rangers Head Coach
“Our problem has been scoring and that was evident again today. We will have to improve on the final third and utilise the chances that we create.” Bernard Mwalala, Bandari FC Head Coach
Zoo FC 0-0 Sony Sugar FC
At the Green Stadium in Kericho, Zoo FC and Sony Sugar played to a barren draw as well.
Western Stima 0-0 Gor Mahia
Western Stima managed to contain a hard fighting Gor Mahia to share spoils in another barren draw at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
Kariobangi Sharks 0-3 Kakamega Homeboyz
Kariobangi Sharks succumbed to a 3-0 loss in the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz in a match played at the Moi International Sports Center.
David Okoth opened the scoring in the fifth minute, a lead they went to the breather with. Allan Wanga doubled the lead in the 60th minute from the spot and Peter Thiongo finished the job eight minutes later.
AFC Leopards 0-2 Mathare United
Mathare United completed a double over AFC Leopards by beating them 2-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
Cliff Nyakeya opened the scoring in the 28th minute and Klinsman Omulanga doubled the lead just ten minutes later.
Tusker 2-2 Sofapaka
Umar Kasumba continued with his imperious form by opening the scoring for Batoto Ba Mungu in the third minute with a powerful header past Tusker FC custodian Emery Mvuyekure and Brian Magonya doubled the lead after the restart with a clever header off a quick corner by Eli Asieche.
