Kenyan forward Cliff Nyakeya has joined newly promoted side FC AL Masr, coming from Mathare United.
FC Masr had secured promotion to the Egyptian Premier League for the first time since being formed in 2009 after finishing on top of Group B of the Egyptian Second Division.
Since joining the Egyptian fourth division they had secured promotion twice to reach the second tier, winning the league on both occasions.
They came very close to reaching the top division on several occasions as they finished 2nd twice and 4th twice. They will be joined by Aswan and Tanta who also secured promotion to the Egptian Premier League next season.
Speaking to www.soka25east.com after the signing of his new deal Nyakeya was happy and very positive saying “this is an important move for me and my career progression.Al Masr is a club with great ambition and i want to be part of the good moments as they join the Egyptian Premier league.I promise to give 100 percent “.
Now, in efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season, FC Masr have acquired Kenyan striker Cliff Nyakeya who finished fourth in the Kenyan Premier League’s goalscoring charts with 14 goals.
