Getting an opportunity to officiate at the most prestigious sports event in the World, the FIFA World Cup is a dream for every referee especially across Africa.
41 year old respected Kenyan official Aden Rage Marwa was the only Kenyan in the prestigious list of match officials released by FIFA some few months ago to be at the World Cup in Russia.
However things look not so rosy for the Kenyan and he could find himself actually banned from the game and out of the World Cup after being captured in a sting operation done by Ghanaian undercover investigative journalist Anas.
In an operation to be aired by the BBC today dubbed “Betraying the game” Marwa is captured receiving a paltry $600 dollars in the sting operation the disappointing fact is that he would have made over $25,000 or more at the World Cup as an assistant referee .
www.soka25east.com tried to reach Marwa for his side of the story but he was not available to give any response on the serious allegations that could destroy his illustrious career and future in the beautiful game.
