Kenya’s Harambee Starlets fought gallantly away in Botswana getting a vital away goal despite losing 2-1 to the host in an exciting 2016 Rio Olympic qualifying match played at the Lobatse Compex in Gaborone.
Goals by Botswana’s Refilwe Tholakele and Lesego Keleboge gave the hosts an early lead as Kenya fought tooth and nail to try and get the elusive equalizer.
The second half was a see saw affair as the hosts enjoyed the lead and when it seemed the game was over and dusted with Kenya got the much needed equalizer at the stroke of full time to earn the important away goal scored deep in injury time.
The goal was however crucial being an away one ahead of the return leg in Nairobi in a fortnight’s despite Botswana beating them 2-1 through first half goals.
