Lesotho Premier League side Kick4Life FC has secured fully funded scholarships for two of their brightest young players.
Senate Letsie and Morapeli Lesoesta will attend a two year graduate course at Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey,Illinois,USA.
The duo will combine soccer, majoring in Sciences and Liberal Arts respectively and this will allow them to transfer to a four-year degree programme should opportunities arise later on.
According to Director Kick4Life Chris Bullock,the two youngsters will fly to US next week in what he says is part of his organization programme of fostering life-changing opportunities for Basotho youth inorder to enable them to become future leaders of social change in the country.
“We are very excited about the opportunity for both Morapeli and Senate,”he said.
“They have both worked very hard in their time with us and I think these opportunities show what we are about at Kick4Life as a club that is dedicated to changing and transforming lives,”adds Bullock
” I would like to thank the two of them for all their efforts for Kick4Life and although they will be missed we are proud of them and look forward to representing Kick4Life well over the next few years,”he added.
On his part Kick4Life Co-founder, Steve Fleming added that the opportunity of the two players is alligned with the academy goals and targets.
“Through the Academy we are contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, and these opportunities for Senate and Morapeli are specifically aligned with the target to substantially expand the number of scholarships available to developing countries for higher education in developed countries,”said Fleming.
“They have been wonderful ambassadors for Kick4Life and we have no doubt they will continue to represent the organisation, and Lesotho, with the same qualities that have helped them secure these exciting opportunities,”he concluded.
