Rwanda’s capital Kigali has been chosen to stage the eighth FIFA Council meeting on October 25-26, 2018.
The decision among others was taken Friday during this year’s meet in Bogota, Colombia.
The council is the FIFA’s main decision making body and consists 36 members from the six confederations forming the world’s governing body with the FIFA president as the head.
Paris, France will host the 69th FIFA Congress on 6th June 2019 on the eve of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Peru landed the hosting rights for the 2019 U-17 World Cup, while Poland will stage the U-20 version.
Rwanda had expressed interest to host the U-17 championships but dropped their bid at the last minute.
The council also approved use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) during the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Use of an additional substitute incase a match proceeds into extra time was also given the node.
