King of Morocco honors Atlas Lions after historic World Cup campaign

The King of Morocco, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, received the members of the Morocco National Team and crowned them with Royalty following their historic performance at the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup by reaching the Semi-finals. 

The King in receiving the delegation at the Royal Palace in Rabat was accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid received at the Throne Hall of the Royal Palace in Rabat.

The Atlas Lions have brought pride a football loving nation and also as the flag bearer of Morocco, the Arab World and the continent of Africa.

During this ceremony, His Majesty presented the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Mr Fouzi Lekjaa, the coach of the national team, Walid Regragui, and the players of the national team, with royal decorations.

Lekjaa and Regragui were decorated with the Order of the Throne, rank Commander by His Majesty the King.

His Majesty also awarded the Order of the Throne, in the rank of officer, to the entire 26 players that represented Morocco in Qatar.

Furthermore, King Mohamed VI awarded royal medals to all members of the technical and medical staff of the national team.

The team presented gifts to His Majesty the King for his support during the World Cup.

His Majesty the King, together with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, took a group photo with the members of the national football team.

The Atlas Lions made history by becoming the first African team to reach the Semi-finals at the FIFA World Cup.
