Kenya Commercial Bank(KCB) FC might find themselves without their mercurial striker Paul Kiongera.
The former Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars striker could be leaving the club for unnamed country in the few coming weeks.
According to club coach Rishadi Shedu, the player has indicated to the club management that he might be leaving the club for unnamed destination after the expiry of his contract.
Shedu told the media after the KCB/AFC Leopards Top Eight semi final match at the Nyayo National Stadium that if the deal fails to materalise, they will impress on the striker to renew his contract with the club.
‘We shall dearly miss him. Our striking force was blunt without him.Kiongera has been a source of inspiration to our team. It;s unfortunate he is leaving us but we must move on whether he is there or not” noted shedu.
He disclosed that he will be shopping for at least four players to beef up the team ahead of the second leg.He singled out a striker, midfielder and an offensive supplier.
The former Bandari coach said he was happy with the arrival of former AFC Leopards defender and Ugandan Abbas Kiwalabye who has brought stability in defence.
He expressed confidence KCB will bounce back in the second leg and claim their rightful position in the League.
