The newly promoted Azam Uganda Premier League side Kirinya-Jinja SS are already on the recruiting mission ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season.
In the bid to revamp its squad ahead of tough forthcoming season, Kirinya Jinja SS are targeting tournaments, scouting talented players with which the technical bench has said it will unveil at a later date.
Kirinya-Jinja SS is one of the youngest clubs in the history of Ugandan Football and has became the first club in school level in the history to qualify to the top flight football.
The team was formed in 2011-2012 season after being bought from the mechanics of Kirinya Road , Jinja and it was called Kirinya FC.Later the club name was changed to Kirinya-Jinja SS FC.
The club played their first season 2012-2013 in Eastern Regional League and reached the finals and was promoted to the Big league for 2013-2014 season.
In their first season in Big league the club played up to the promotional playoffs finals and lost to KJT Rwenshama 3-2 in a match played at the Phillip Omondi Stadium .In the second season 2014-2015 they went all way to play in the promotional finals and lost to JMC Hippos.In their third season in Big League their experience saw them qualify directly to Azam Uganda Premier League topping the Rwenzori Group with 52pts.
Kirinya –Jinja SS is set to participate in inaugural the Eastern G4 tournament later this month.
