This is the big one and nothing comes bigger than this. The most decorated derby in the land moves from the Copperbelt to Lusaka on search of the first Barclay’s Cup title for Nkana or the third for Power Dynamos.
Straight from boycotting the Cup tournament in 2017, Power walks back in and go straight in the final. They will think fate is smiling for them and have a very good chance of bugging the third Barclay’s Cup title . They are here after dispatching off Mufulira Wanderes via a 5-4 penalty shoot outs while Nkana saw off Zesco United in a 2-1 quater final thriller.
It’s not the first time these two are meeting in the Barclay’s Cup and hope you remember the 2014 edition when Nkana eliminated Power Dynamos in the quater finals 2-0 and that should be fresh in the minds of Power Dynamos players and fans would want to exert revenge in this one.

But then Power Dynamos meets a Nkana team bouyed by very good run of games in 20 games were they don’t count a loss and coming from a bubbling victory against Lusaka Dynamos who they beat 4-0.
Power Dynamos though have struggled this season and their form has been inconsistent to say the least with failure to break into the top four as their biggest loss of the season . But they can control this with a win here and that would be a big consolation for the yellow family.

Power Dynamos boasts of two titles but have reached the final on four occasions, this will be semi final number six for Power Dynamos.
Nkana need to register their name as one of the winners of the Barclay’s Cup as they have never won it even after playing three semi finals. This will be their fourth. Nkana has only played one final and that came in 2014 were they were beaten by Zesco United 4-0.
Who Wins it?
Nkana are favourite while Power Dynamos believe that the derby has no form and the best team on any day wins it. Nkana has the best attacking team coming to this game and Power have struggled upfront. Everything looks in Nkana’s way.
The head to head in all competitionin in the last 20 games though puts Power Dynamos ahead when these two teams have met. In the last 20, Power Dynamos boasts of 9 wins while Nkana count 5 with the other 6 being draws .
Prediction
There is no draw accepted in this encounter as we should conclude with a winner at the close of the semi final bout. I think this one is headed for one of the unexpected result and I think Power who are underdogs in this one will carry the day.
