AFC Leopards beat Ulinzi Stars 1-0 in their KPL match played at the Afraha Stadium today Tuesday 17 October.
Both teams exhibited a good show in the first half with an intent to score but there were very many missed chances.
The first threat came from Matano’s charges in the fifth minute of the match when Whyvonne Isuza connected to a Musa Mudde free kick but Ulinzi’s keeper was up to task.
Ulinzi Stars were also in goal hunt and they would have scored in the 40th minute through Mark Bikokwa but the shot went over the goal post.
The match went into a break in a 0-0 stalemate.
The second half saw coach Matano replacing Bikokwa to pave way for Enosh Ochieng’. The army men received a nice corner kick from Daniel Waweru but it was headed out.
AFC Leopards attempts did not go to waste when Isuza managed to score in the 63rd minute through a header crossed by Victor Majid.
The win was a first for the 2009 KPL champions after a winless streak in their last four matches.
Gor Mahia 3-1 Kariobangi Sharks
In another match played on Tuesday, leaders Gor Mahia thwarted Kariobangi Sharks 3-1 in Kisumu to extend their lead at the top.
