As Soka25esat.com reported yesterday, Sports Journalists of Kenya (SJAK) and sponsor, insurance company “Fedelity Insurance” today (Tuesday 23) introduced Coach of the month award.
The reward scheme which will see the best performing coach in Kenya’s top league rewarded monthly with Kshs 50,000, was born after Fidelity Insurance Company penned a year deal worth Kshs 1.1M with the body towards the same.
“Coaches will be fighting to win the award and hence will boost level of competition in the league. It is a good move and we thank Fidelity Insurance for coming in as our sponsor,” SJAK chairman Chris Mbaisi told Goal at the launch at a hotel in Nairobi.
“We also felt that it was nice to recorgnize our coaches because they train the same players that we award here every other day.” Chris added.
SJAK also runs another scheme where top players monthly are rewarded with Kshs 100,000 plus a flat screen TV.
