Gor Mahia are the 2015 Kenyan Premier League Champions for the third time on the trot. K’Ogalo were officially presented with the glittering trophy on Sunday 1 before a mammoth crowd at the Nyayo Stadium after 2-0 victory over Muhoroni Youth to make sure they finish the season unbeaten.
Gor won the league with four matches to spare making the Muhoroni game just a hunting ground for history. The title is Gor’s 15th making them the most dominant club in the Kenyan top tier league, with their closest rivals AFC Leopards boasting of 12 crowns.
Second half goals from Ali Abondo’s beautiful freekick and Michael Olunga’s well taken left foot strike was enough to break the stubborn Youth effectively ending their 14 match unbeaten run.
Coach Frank Nuttall and his charges enters the history books as the second K’Ogalo team to finish a league season unscratched after the 1976 invincibles.
