Nakuru All Stars 1-3 Muhoroni Youth
Youth tasted the first sweet victory of the season thrashing hopeless Nakuru All Stars 3-1 in a midweek fixture that was staged at the Afraha Stadium on Wednesday April 1, 2015.
The Francis Baraza coached team were the brighter side taking an early lead in the 7th minute via Abass Akinyemi goal off Paul Mboya’s cross in the box. The lead lasted 40 minutes before Boniface Akenga drew All Stars level in the 47th minute from Balala cross.
Second half resumed with so much determination from both sides but it was Youth who again took the lead this time from substitute Erick Baki who came on for Tony Nyangor; he connected well Yusuf Mohammed’s throw-in in the 54th minute to restore the lead.
George Mandela put matters beyond reach of Nakuru All Stars when he scored Youth’s 3rd goal of the day in the 65th minute.
Speaking to Soka25east.com yesterday Muhoroni Youth CEO James Orundu was confident of a win, “After the Thika United disappointment we sat down with the players and spotted the mistakes, corrected them and we are now psyched up for a win against Stars”
Nakuru All Stars remain winless in four matches and are rooted at the bottom of the KPL log.
City Stars 0-1 Bandari
Bandari go top of the KPL table with ten points a point clear of second placed Gor Mahia who has played a match less after edging out weeping boys City Stars in another midweek fixture played at the City Stadium.
Anthony ‘Muki’ Kimani put the dockers ahead in the 11th minute, red hot David King’atua was the provider; attempts by the Kawangware based side to make a comeback were thwarted by keeper Wilson Obungu’s heroic saves.
City must now rethink their 2015 season strategy and see if they are ready to offer meaningful competition.
