Laliga president Mr. Javier Tebas Medrano will visit Kenya tomorrow following an invite by his Kenyan Premier League counterpart Mr. Ambrose Rachier.

A partnership between the two bodies which are members of the World Leagues Forum will be announced at the end of the visit at a press conference to be attended by Spanish Ambassador to Kenya Javier Garcia.

Tebas will be accompanied by Mr. Malcior Soler, who is the LaLiga Director of Audio Visual.

“Their visit to the Kenyan Premier League is consistent with the aims and objectives of the World Leagues Forum of which KPL and LaLiga are members, whereby members of developing leagues grow through association and partnership with members of the World’s top leagues,” a statement from KPL reads.

KPL recently suffered a huge setback after their broadcast partner Supersport terminated its contract.

Concerted efforts to bring the games back on air are underway, with the body weighing different options including carrying them on mobile phone platform.

K24, a local television channel on Sunday aired live Kenya’s biggest derby pitting rivals AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia – renewing hopes of getting KPL back on air.
