Kenyan Premier League and partners; league broadcaster Supersport and league title sponsor SportPesa and Gor Mahia are set for a stakeholders meeting tomorrow (Wednesday 28) at the KPL headquarters in Nairobi to kickoff elaborate plans for this Sunday’s trophy presentation ceremony.
Gor Mahia will be officially crowned the 2015 KPL champions for the third time on the trot on Sunday, November 1 at the Nyayo Stadium.
This exercise has been marred by chaos in the past two seasons something the stakeholders would not want a repeat of this time and hence the need for proper planning for the special occasion.
Top on the agenda of the meeting will be exploring ways to guard against pitch invasion by a section of overjoyed fans who have always cut shot the celebrations denying the world an opportunity to witness history unfolding.
An official from KPL intimated to Soka25east.com that their aim this time is to see players and officials of K’Ogalo bring along their families for the special occasion, take photos togather and even celebrate with fans in an orderly manner.
The stakeholders see this as an opportunity to package and present KPL as an organized brand worth investing in and they will stop at nothing to produce a spectacular event this round.
Also expected to be represnted at the meeting subject to confirmation is Keroche Breweries Ltd. The giant beer maker from Naivasha has been linked with a possible shirt sponsorship deal with the champions.
Soka25east.com has also learnt that a budget proposal for the activities of the day had been presented to the company (Keroche Breweries ) by Gor Mahia management as a way of fully bringing them on board for the day.
