Kenya Premier League All Stars will play their first friendly match aganist Spanish second division side Cordoba Club de Futbol at the Estido el Mauli in Antequera City, Spain on Wednesday 19 July starting from 10pm Kenyan time.

The 18 man squad arrived in Spain on Sunday and have been holding training at the venue in readiness for the much awaited game.

The friendly was planned as part of three years programme lined up under a recently signed partnership between La Liga and Kenya Premier League.

Today’s match provides national team coach Stanely Okumbi who is handling the team,an opportunity to watch his boys who he intends to use in next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) as they gain necessary experience.

“Winning would be nice, but the bigger objective is to help these players gain exposure and experience that will help them in future engagements. Most of them are below 23 years, which means they are the future of the national team,” Okumbi said.

According to Kenya Premier League portal,Kenyan football officials attended a sports marketing seminar at the La Liga headquarters in Madrid that will be held over two days. They were expected to join the Kenyan select squad on Wednesday evening ahead of the game.
