George Kimani and Clifton Obasanjo struck two quick goals in first half as Posta Rangers edged Gor Mahia 2-1 in a Kenyan Premier League U-20 clash played this Saturday 17 December at Camp Toyoyo.
In the clash, Gor Mahia launched early attack at goal with Amos Nondi who made the most of their laid-back approach but could not find the net.
Posta Rangers picked themselves from the early threats and it took them a span of five minutes to strike two goals with George Kimani slotting home a loose ball past Otieno for the first goal.
Just before the dust settled Posta Rangers were at it again,Teddy Osok made an error playing a back pass to Otieno but Cliton Obasanjo raced before the keeper to slot home into an empty net to make it 2-0.
The two goals proved a proper pedestal for the Rangers who went on to dictate the match proceedings thereafter with Obasanjo proving a constant threat at the visitor’s goal from series of shots.
However, Gor’s Amos Nondi proved his class when he delivered a well caculated cross that met Nashion Thiongo with a header into the net.
Rangers then came close to extending the lead after the break when Kimani was played through at the goal zone only to lose his bearing and shoot wide in process.
Gor failed in imposing themselves in the game and their two attempts at goal saw two of their strikers unable to muster anything for an equalizer. The side was left to pay for their dispirited first half start when Rangers defended their slim lead on their numbers as they held out their lines to claim the three points.
