A total of nine Kenya Premier League (KPL) matches were played in the weekend of Saturday 4 November and Sunday 5 November posting different results as the race to escape the relegation zone continued.

Thika United managed to beat Tusker FC 1-0 in their match played at the Ruaraka stadium. Eugene Mukangula scored the solitary goal in the 37th minute to se them bag maximum points. The win dislodged Tusker FC from position two and they will have to beat their counterparts Sofapaka placed thurd on log in their next fixture.

Mathare United eased their way past Nzoia Sugar in their game played on Saturday but that was not enough to keep them from the chopping board. Kimanzi’s charges will have to post a win in their next match pitting Muhoroni Youth who received a 7-0 drubbing by on form Kariobangi Sharks. Goals from Cavin Odongo (1), Duke Abuya(1), Ovella Ochieng'(1) and Juma Masoud(4) subjected Muhoroni to their loss of the season.

Muhoroni are rooted at the bottom of the log with 25 points.

Western Stima salvaged a point when they held Ulinzi to a 2-2 draw but that was not enough to see them escape the relegation zone. Ezekiel Otuoma opened the scoring but Cliff Kasuti restored parity. Churchill Mudona then scored the equalizer to ensure both teams shared a point each. Stima are second from behind with 32 points.

Sofapaka 0-1 Sony Sugar

Sofapaka were subjected to a 0-1 loss when Yemi Mwana scored the only goal of the match. Sofapakaa are placed third on log with 49 points, one shy from Tusker FC and Posta Rangers who are placed third and second respectively.

Gor 1-1 Zoo Kericho

League leaders and soon to be crowned 2017 champions Gor Mahia were held to a 1-1 draw by KPL newbies Zoo Kericho in their match. Striker Meddie Kagere scored first to keep the army men in the lead but Kepha Ondati leveled matters to enable the relegation threatened side to stick to position 13 with 37 points.
