Gor Mahia new Coach Jose Marcelo Ferrairra jetted into the country early Monday morning, ready to begin a new chapter in his coaching career in Africa for the first time as K’Ogalo’s Head Coach.
Nicknamed Ze Maria, the former Brazilian international arrives to a disjointed team yet to master a win in five league outings. He will also start his journey at the 15-times league winners minus an assistant after Frank Ouna threw in the towel over the weekend after failing to pick maximum points from minnows City Stars on Saturday.
Capped 25 times by the Samba Boys, the 42 years old succeeds, Scotsman Frank Nuttall who ditched the club two weeks for a role as assistant Coach at Zamalek in Egypt.
Frank set the bar high up and was a darling of fans, after he guided Gor to a third straight league title unbeaten; he also won KPL Top 8 title besides taking the team to the final of CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania.
Ze Maria has his work cut out and may not have time to breathe as fans are desperate for the first victory of the new season.
He comes with a physical trainer who arrives tomorrow.
