Gor Mahia eased past Bandari 3-1 at Moi Stadium, Kisumu Saturday to open an eleven-point gap at the top of the Kenyan Premier League.

Nzoia Sugar were held to a barren draw by Western Stima at Sudi Stadium in the other league fixture of the day.

In Kisumu, unstoppable K’Ogalo proved a handful for the visitors whom they largely bossed and kept on the back foot for almost entire game.

Former Thika United offensive midfielder Francis Kahata, who was starting his third straight match, broke the Dockers’ resistance in the 39th minute – driving home a grass cutter from the edge of the box.

Gor took the slim 1-0 lead into the breather.

Vintage Meddie Kagere doubled the the lead in the 53rd minute for his third successive goal in three matches and ninth overall in the campaign.

The Ugandan-born Rwandan striker heavily punished defender Fally Mulumba’s poor back pass – firing into an empty net.

Wellington Ochieng, who started ahead of Burundian right back Karim Nzigiyimana after missing the last two outings, headed in the third in the 70th minute to firmly take charge of the game.

Against the run of play Mchael Apudo pulled one goal back for Bandari seven minutes to time.

Gor took their points tally to 51 from 24 matches – 11 points clear of second placed Kakamega Homeboyz.

Bandari remain tenth on 33 points.
