Posta Rangers coach Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo has been handed three-match ban for violent conduct against Sofapaka coach Sam Ssimbwa by the KPL’s disciplinary tribunal.

Despite the two “friends” pressing for dropping of the charges as they had reconciled, the tribunal found Pamzo’s sins unforgivable as they are serious under both FIFA and KPL rules.

Pamzo was found guilty of pouring water on the Ugandan manager and also punching him during an ill-tempered KPL tie at Narok Stadium 16th August.

Tempers seethed after late Sofapaka’s equalizer when Ssimbwa overly celebrated into Posta’s technical area prompting Pamzo, out of anger, to pour water on him.

The emotions spilt over after the final whistle when the former Ugandan international sought to know why Pamzo poured water on him escalating the situation further with the latter punching him.

During the hearing, Ssimbwa refused to comment further saying he had forgiven the offender and it was against his beliefs to pursue the matter further.

The two have known each other and enjoy cordial relationship since their international careers separately with Uganda Cranes and Harambee Stars.

“It is not in dispute that Mr. Sammy Ommollo the head coach of Posta Rangers FC indeed poured water on Mr Sam Simbwa in the 89th minute and also punched him on the face after the final whistle,” the tribunal established.

“Despite the fact that the two coaches had reconciled, our hands are tied, since we must apply the rule as set out,”

“Mr Omollo is found to have acted in an unsporting manner thereby committing the offense of misconduct likely to bring the game into disrepute,”

“To serve a three match suspension from sitting on the technical bench of Posta Rangers and or any team in the Sportpesa Premier League matches with effect from the date of this ruling,” the tribunal ruled.

Sam on the other hand was warned of his conduct particularly during the hearing of the case wherein he refused to make any comment on the matter “despite the seriousness of the charge.”
