Sofapaka bounced back big from Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to Gor Mahia by thumping hapless AFC Leopards 2-0 at Narok County Stadium Sunday.

In Nakuru, 2017 KPL surprise package Kakamega Homeboyz clipped Gor’s lead to eight points with a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars at Afraha Stadium.

Ugandan import Feni Ali was the hero for Sofapaka – netting a brace for the 2009 champions.

Ali shook the net early in the second minute from a brilliant interchange of passes to help settle the nerves of the hosts.

He doubled the scores in the 20th minute with a stunning long range shot past Leopards goalkeeper Ian Otieno.

The sweet victory take Sofapaka to third in the KPL table standings on 39 points while Leopards remain rooted in the 12th position on 25 points from similar amount of fixtures.

In Nakuru, Jeremiah Wanjala’s 42nd minute penalty after Geoffrey Kokoyo handled the ball in the box kept Homeboyz in the title chase.

The Kakamega based side move eight points away from leaders Gor in the title race on 43 points, while the Soldiers drop to fourth in the log on 36 points.

In the other fixture of the day at Thika Municipal Stadium, hosts Thika United edged newbies Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 to move two places away from the relegation danger zone.

Christopher Oruchum scored the lone goal in the 54th – taking their season haul to 23 points from 25 matches.
