AFC Leopards have appointed Jacob Abisia as their new Chief Executive Officer on a nine-month-contract.

Ingwe have also confirmed Argentine Rodolfo Zapata as the new head coach on a 20-month-deal.

Abisia holds a Master of Science degree in Sport and recreation management from Kenyatta University.

He boasts eight years working experience as head of sports at Kenya Methodist University and three years of academic experience as sports management lecturer at Kenyatta, Masinde Muliro and Moi Universities.

“The move strengthens the senior management structure at AFC Leopards, where Abisia will oversee the day-to-day operations of the club,” the 12-times Kenyan Premier League champion said in a statement.

Rodolfo oversaw Leopards’ weekend’s KPL outing against Vihiga United which ended in a 2-2 draw at Thika Municipal Stadium.

He holds UEFA A coaching budge and Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.

He also has a background of over 30 years as a professional player and coach in Argentina, USA, Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana and Canada.

“We are honored to have such a vastly experienced coach in our midst. We will give the coach all the necessary support so that we can all achieve our goals,” the club committed.

Leopards have not won the KPL title since 1998 and have been living in the shadows of their arch rivals Gor Mahia, who have bagged four since 1995.

The club is known to hire and fire coaches for fun.
