Gor Mahia edged Wazito FC 1-0 in a Kenyan Premier League Wednesday fixture played at Machakos’ Kenyatta Stadium.

Rwanda international Jacques Tuyisenge, who came on as a second half substitute, scored the lone goal in the 74th minute – heading home Cercidy Okello’s freekick with panache.

The victory was K’Ogalo’s seventh in the Kenya’s topflight in eight matches; they close the gap between them and log leaders Mathare United to one point with two matches to spare.

Gor now shift their attention to Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup playoffs return match against South Africa’s Supersport United.

The coach Dylan Kerr’s outfit won the first leg played last Sunday in Machakos 1-0 courtesy of Tuyisenge’s penalty and are bullish to finish the business in Pretoria next week.

Supersport, who are the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup runners-up, on the other hand are fighting for the their status in the South Africa’s league and have a difficult match against a resurgent Orlando Pirates tonight.

The “Matsantsantsa” badly need a win in the tie to keep their Premier Soccer League hopes alive before they take on Gor in the decisive tie with the aggregate winner booking a slot in the Confederation Cup groups stage.
