FIFA referee Andrew Juma has declined to officiate a Kenyan Premier League match pitting Chemelil Sugar FC against AFC Leopards.

The game is scheduled for this Saturday at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium and the experienced whistle-blower was handed the match as the center referee.

Juma, who is well known in Africa for his many years of dedicated service as a match official, gave a statement as follows;

“I acknowledge the appointment for the match but I am forced to decline the appointment due to the recent Gor Mahia vs AFC leopards Hull city challenge match where by AFC leopards officials were not comfortable with my appointment as a reserve referee which had no bearing on the outcome of the match hence I am available for any other appointment but not involving AFC leopards,” Regards,
Andrew Juma.

Juma is elder brother to Gor Mahia first choice keeper Boniface Oluoch.

He has in the past officiated matches involving his brother without raising eyebrows.
