In the absence of regular striker Wycliffe Ochomo who is suspended for having accumulated five yellow cards, Zachary is expected to slot in to score goals for the on form team when they face unpredictable Mathare United tomorrow at home.
Speaking to Soka25east.com this evening Youth’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) James Orundu confirmed that head coach Paul Nkata has given the striker a clean bill of health to feature for the Awasi side after impressing in training in the last two build up matches the team played this week.
“Zachary is in Coach’s plans for Mathare United, he will be playing his first Kenyan Premier League match since coming to Kenya. He has shown commitment and the Coach is impressed.” James said.
The striker joined Muhoroni Youth in the mid season transfer window on loan from reigning champions Gor Mahia but due to stiff competition in the team he has been used sparingly especially in friendlies and in the GOTV Shield Cup.
In a related news, James has stated clearly that they have upgraded their ambitions to a third spot finish in the current season.
“We are going for the third place on the log, that’s our new target, and we believe we have what it takes to beat our opponents to the goal.”
Muhoroni lie 5th on the KPL log with 36 points from 25 fixtures, 8 points off third placed Sofapaka – they have gone 11 matches without tasting defeat making them the second on form team after Gor Mahia who are yet to lose a match this season.
