Super sub Khalid Jumaan delivered a wonderful solo effort strike to rescue a point for a disappointed AFC Leopards head Coach Zdravko Logarusic.
“We should have won. Both sides played well, the kind of exciting football we all want to watch in KPL.” The ever animated Croatian tactician said in post match interview.
The “Madaraka” Day Kenyan Premier League fixture played at the City Stadium on Monday 1st , had all the ingredients of an exiting match with both sides taking play to each other’s half.
The Slum Boys who enjoyed huge chunk of ball possession in the first half took the lead in the 37th minute from a wonderful build up involving three players; Noah Abich picked Whyvonne Isuza from the right with the latter having a neat one two exchange with Roy Syamba before unleashing a powerful left foot strike leaving Leopards keeper Wycliffe Kasaya rooted on the ground.
The match headed into the breather with Mathare United the better side. Logarusic made a tactical sub in the 66th withdrawing left back Abdala Juma for attacking midfielder Khalid Jumaan who had immediate impact, overpowering two defenders on the right before unleashing a wonderful right shot that left Mathare United keeper Peter Odhiambo over stretched for the equalizer.
Mathare United and AFC Leopards retain 9th and 7th positions in the log respectively.
