Belgium side Club Blugge KV have signed Manchester United and Southampton target Krepin Diatta at undisclosed fee.

The Senegalese midfielder,18, starred for his country in the last year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup and has been a mainstay for Sarpsborg for the past season.

And despite interest from England, Diatta has opted to move to Belgium and make the switch to the Blues.

“Today Club Brugge and Sarpsborg reached an agreement for the immediate transfer of Krepin Diatta. The Senegalese forward signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the Blues,”reads a statement on Blugge’s website.

Diatta is regarded as a player with strength, athleticism and pace and is viewed as one of the most promising youngsters currently playing in Europe.

The youngster began his career at Oslo Football Academy in Dakar.In early 2017 he was taken away by Norwergian First Division side Sarpsborg.

With the U-20 Senegal national team he scored 7 goals in 19 games and was chosen among the eleven best players during the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Zambia.

The attack-minded midfielder is also one of the three top nominees for the Africa Youth Player of the year award, a prize that will be awarded on Thursday.
