Lionel Zouma, brother of Chelsea defender Kurt, has received his first international call up for the Central Africa Republic national team.
The 26 year old is currently plying his trade at Dhofar, and his performances in Oman have been enough to turn the head of new Central African Republic coach Francois Zahoui.
Up until this point, a lot of Lionel Zouma’s notoriety comes from the fact that he is the older brother of Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, however it is too late for the latter to make the same allegiance switch as he has already played competitive football for France.
Lionel Zouma becomes the latest French born player to play for The Wild Beasts, with the most notable case being Valencia midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia who made the switch last year.
Lionel Zouma will hope to make his debut in Central African Republic’s next game which is at home against Burundi, before they travel to face Mauritania.
