Metropolitan region representatives and last year finalist Laiser Hill benefited from a defensive mix up by Green Palms Defenders to beat the Coast boys 2-1 with the match seemingly headed for a draw .

Led by their captain Iddi Hassan,

the Mombasa boys almost got a second a minute later but were denied by Laiser Hill keeper .

Laiser hill quickly followed with a counter attack orchestrated by Ouma towards John Macharia who beat the defenders but his resultant shot aimed at goal was blocked by the keeper

The moment for the equalizer came in the 12th minute when another counter attack with a one two interchange between the laiser Hill players found John Kinyanjui with the keeper to beat.He did not hesitate shooting at the far post for a 1-1 scoreline .

Zuberi Kazungu had his powerful free kick parried away by Laiser Hill keeper for a corner.

Kevin Owino initiated a marathon counter attack with Masika who’s dribbling skills on the right flank received an applause from the fans had his final shot hit the cross bar

Both teams began playing cautiously with most ball around the middle of the pitch.Green Palms however had a goal disallowed for offside in the 36th minute

With the scoreline tied at 1-1,the second half also saw both teams miss golden opportunities to get the needed goal chance .

With the loss Green Palms will go back to the drawing board when they play Passenga tomorrow .

In the other group B match Passenga beat Sabulei 3-0 at the Kisumu day high school grounds

In the girls matches,Group A saw Lake Region Nyakach trounce Kiagara of Highlands 4-0 while Nginda of Aberdare silenced Olympic of Nairobi 2-0

In Group B Wiyeta of Nzoia walloped itigo of Mau 5-0 while St Johns of Coast beat Moi Girls Sindo of Lake 2-0
