Delegates from the Kenyan top flight travelled to Madrid to gain an insight into LaLiga’s working methods.
LaLiga’s international growth continues its gradual march, with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) the latest body to show an interest in the organisation’s working procedures.
This week has seen several meetings staged in Madrid between a number of leading representatives from the Kenyan top flight and the various LaLiga departments.
The aim of these sessions was to share knowledge with the African league which, just like LaLiga, is constantly seeking to improve its operations.
The Kenyan delegation was hosted by LaLiga president, Javier Tebas; LaLiga’s corporate managing director, Javier Gomez; and Vicente Casado, managing director of international development.
Chairman Ambrose Rachier headed up the KPL expedition and was particularly interested to hear about the way in which Spanish football’s organising body is structured and about its multi-level approach to running the professional game in Spain.
On this note, the meetings served to give the representatives from the Kenyan league a first-hand insight into the work of LaLiga’s departments, including the marketing, audiovisual, competitions, legal, compliance and CSR teams.
The guests were extremely grateful for this information and for the opportunity for development and growth afforded to them by these sessions.
President Tebas also expressed his gratitude, highlighting how LaLiga can be enriched by engaging with other leagues. Where this point is concerned, he underlined that these visits fit into the organisation’s ongoing internationalisation plan as part of a range of strategic initiatives aiming to bring LaLiga closer to football federations and competitions from other countries.
