Abidjan giants ASEC Mimosas have appointed former Cote d’Ivoire International Amani Yao Lambert Cesar as their new head coach.
Yao, 54, takes over from Siaka Traore who recently guided the Yellow and Black to a record 25th Cote d’Ivoire Ligue 1 title after a seven-year drought.
Siaka has been elevated to the Technical Coordinator role.
In his playing days as a striker, Yao played for both ASEC Mimosas and their ertenal rivals Africa Sports for five years each between 1987 and 1997 before hunging up his boots.
He is expected to prepare the team for the new 2017/18 Ligue one season and the 2018 African Champions.
The Mimosas last won the coveted continental club championship in 1998.
They hold the world record for the longest unbeaten league record at 108.
