AFC Leopards beat miller’s Sony Sugar 1-2 in a Sportpesa Premier League clash played today at the awendo Green stadium in Migori County.
Leopards took the lead in the early minutes of the first half through Lamine Diablo, a goal that stood for a half time lead. On resumption, the hosts began strongly in search for an equalizer. The resilience paid off when new signing Daniel Ochieng drew level. Coach leonard Odipo brought in Mohammed Hassan for Amos Asembeka in the 65th minute. Leopards coach Jan Koops rested goal scorer Lamine Diallo and brought in Kevin Migunde. Victor Ademba had to come out for Nicholas Akoko to add more punch in front but it was the leopards who had the last laugh when former Mathare and Tusker player Andrew Tololwa scored a last minute goal to help the Giants reap maximum points from the difficult Awendo stadium.
The win sees Leopards go joint top with four other teams with a total of four points while Sony remain on a point after their goalless draw with Ulinzi last week.
: Sony next hosts Ushuru on Sunday While leopards hosts Gotv Shield defending champions Bandari the third round of the Sportpesa Premier League.
