AFC leopards bounced back big in the Kenyan Premier League with a well worked 1-0 win over staggering Tusker FC at Nyayo Stadium Thursday.

Ex Muhoroni Youth winger Samuel Ndungu combined well with Vincent Oburu for the lone goal in the 83rd minute – condemning the defending champions to a third loss in five outings.

“We move to the next patient,” the club declared after the win.

Ingwe move to thirteenth in the stable standings on twenty three points after twenty matches – five places off the danger zone.

The Brewers on the other hand slip to eighth on twenty nine points after equal number of matches.

The win is a welcome morale booster for the coach Robert Matano’s charges ahead of the much awaited “Mashemaji Derby” Sunday.

The biggest and oldest club football rivalry in the country, pitting Leopards against eternal enemies Gor Mahia, takes place Sunday at Nyayo Stadium.

At stake will be the three points, however, the biggest prize will be the bragging rights.

Gor Mahia have had the better of their “in-laws” in the past three consecutive, a misfortune Ingwe are motivated to end this Sunday.

Like Leopards, Gor build up to the clash with a 1-0 win over third placed Posta Rangers yesterday.

The Sunday meet will be the 82nd between the two most decorated clubs in Kenya in the KPL.
