Following guidance from FIFA on venues for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced that Levy Mwanawasa Stadium will host the match between Zambia and Tunisia which will be held on September 7, 2021.
FIFA has also confirmed the kickoff time as 13:00 hours for the clash against the Carthage Eagles at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Head of Qualifiers and International Matches at FIFA Gordon Savic disclosed that timings and venues were a prerogative of FIFA to decide.
“Please kindly note that all the different elements had to be taken into account including optimizing the best-possible exposure and avoiding important overlaps in terms of TV coverage,” reads Savic’s notice in part.
On September 3, 2021, the Chipolopolo will be away to Mauritania with the match set for the Olympic Stadium in Nouakchott and will kick off at 16:00 hours.
Several countries will play their home matches on foreign soil on account of having their stadia unfit for hosting international matches.
Malawi, Central Africa Republic, Mali, Namibia, and Guinea Bissau will play their home matches away from home.
Zambia is in Group B with Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania.
