The Libyan Football Federation ousted its FA President Jamal Jafari from his position with a no-confidence vote in the LFF General Assembly’s meeting, on Thursday, in the city of Marj.
Jafari lost by 82 votes to 2, with 1 abstention.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of the continuation of Vice President of the LFF Abdulhakim Al-Shalmani, as President of the Federation until the elections.
The Executive Office of the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) confirmed the suspension of its president Jamal Al-Jaafari temporarily, until the General Assembly meeting in December.
The Executive Office said in a press conference held in Tripoli on Saturday that the decision came after evidence of violations committed by the LFF head, without referring to the General Assembly.
The office stressed that it will be reaching out to all clubs guarantee the start of the Libyan league as soon as possible, noting that the timetable of the Premier League and the stadiums on which matches will be held in, will remain as scheduled. More than 10 teams, from the first and second group, have announced their boycott of the Premier League this season, until the dismissal of the current LFF President.
However FIFA in their response to LFF failed to recognise the new development in a letter to the federation.
