Liverpool didn’t make any major signings in the summer as we spent more time getting our players to commit their futures to the club.
The Reds allowed several players to leave too, with Daniel Sturridge being one of the biggest names to depart the club.
Liverpool didn’t sign a replacement for the England striker, however, Metro (h/t Calciomercato) claims that the Reds are interested in landing a forward in the January window.
The report adds that Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze is the player we will move for.
The Nigerian attacker can play as an attacking midfielder but his best position is out wide. The 20-year-old scored five goals and provided two assists in La Liga last season and has already found the back of the net this campaign.
The winger also played for Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations and scored once for the Super Eagles.
Liverpool could do with more cover for their attackers
The Reds need some cover for their wide men and Chukwueze is one of the brightest talents in the Spanish league.
The Nigerian is quick with the ball and could develop into a world-class footballer under Jurgen Klopp.
