What made Zambian football
This cup tournament is believed to be one of the shortest lived cup tourney in Zambia that ran from 2001 to 2007.
The teams that participated hence only shared the 7 titles . It was comprising between the top 8 teams inbthe Super League and the top two from the lower levels. This was decided at the half way stage of the season.
ZANACO won the innaugral one in 2001 beating Mufulira Wanderers 1-0, this was after extra time.
Chambeshi Blackburn shocked Zesco United in 2002 with a 2-1 victory after Zesco took the lead by then ZESCO was in the Lower division
in 2003 Power Dynamos win it forbthe first time beating Red Arrows 1-0 inbthe final .
ZANACO would then come back to win it for the second time beating Red Arrows 2-0 in the final
In 2005 Red Arrows would play a third final in roll but would go on to lose to Forest Rangers 1-0 . Actually Red Arrows carry the most team statistic tobhabe played the Coca Cola cup final without lifting it.
In 2006 Forest Rangers failed to defend the title as they lost to Kabwe Warriors 2-0 befor Zesco United would grab it for the first time in 2007 in the most high scoring final that ended 5-0 against Nkana. That would be the last this tournament is played and ZESCO would get the accolade of the team to have grabbed the last one with ZANACO claiming the overall record of winning it twice.
