Zambian Super League moneybags Lusaka Dynamos have signed former AFC Leopards Ugandan defender Yakubu Rama on a two-year-deal.

Rama, 23, is expected to strengthen The Elite’s backline in the upcoming 2018 as they continue the chase for a maiden ZSL title.

The former Bright Stars and Victoria University defense stalwart expressed delight in the move.

He thanked Leopards for giving the exposure.

“I’m very happy to join Lusaka Dynamos. I pray to God to give me the heart to work hard.

“I thank AFC Leopards for the chance they gave to be seen,” Rama told Soka25east.

Dynamos are reliably believed to have coughed up $20,000 to tie the highly rated defender and will pay him a monthly salary of $3000.

Rama adds to the growing number of Ugandan players trooping to the fast rising Zambia’s topflight.

They include Buildcon FC’s duo of Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Kasule Abubakar.

Lusaka Dynamos was formed in 1979 and play their home matches at 60,000 capacity National Heroes Stadium, Lusaka.

The club’s only major trophy came in 2008 when they won the Zambian Challenge Cup.
