Young Africans coach George Lwandamina was full of praise for sensational Zanaco after they held his team and progressed to the group stages of the CAF Champions league. Lwandamina, However feels the team needs a few more technical players.
“They (Zanaco) have a good team. They play progressive football. When they are attacking, they rarely change direction and always wanrrt to keep pressing” he saidLwandamina regretted the number of missed chances by both sides and feels the away did the trick for Zanaco.
” It was a tightly contested match, Which both teams wanted to win. We both created chances but failed to utilise them”
” We have quality players that can compete in any league. We just need to put our act together. We want to go far in the confederations cup, Maybe reach the semi-final stages or go further than that by God’s grace”
“I have only been a coach for this team for about four months. The philosophy needs time to bare fruits. Its a learning process. We are working on it.”
Zanaco and Young Africans played out to a goalless draw on Saturday, 18th March. The result means the Champions of Zambia have qualified to the group stages of the competition.
