Madagascar’s FA president is reported to have disappeared just as he is being investigated for corruption.
According to the BBC, the country’s anti-corruption watchdog, Bianco, is asking for help to track down Raoul Arizaka Rabekoto , who hails from the same country as under-fire African Football Confederation chief Ahmad Ahmad.
A statement entitled “’Where is Mr Raoul Arizaka Rabekoto?’ has been issued by Bianco which last month said it was investigating Rabekoto in relation “to embezzlement arising from acts suspected of gross corruption committed with (local football club) CNAPS”.
Rabekoto failed to appear on February 20 at Bianco’s offices to answer questions about the accusations.
Bianco revealed that as far back as February 3 it had issued a ban on Rabekoto leaving the country.
The anti-corruption body also said that there have been conflicting rumours about his whereabouts, with some indications that he has left Madagascar and others saying he is still in the country.
