Big Bullets have been officially crowned the Malawian TNM champions after a classical 3-1 win over Civo Service United at the Civo stadium in the capital lilongwe this evening.Chiukepo Msowoya scored a brace with Musa Manyenje scoring the other to wrap up the league in style.
Big bullets who had earlier attained an unassailable 62 points for the title matching Mighty Be Foward’s achievement of 2006/2007 when they won the league with the same points.Big Bullets however broke a second record of winning the 15 team league with 69 points,four better than the defunct Escom who won the 2007/2008 league with 65 points.
Meanwhile,the race for the golden boot that was too close ended in big bullets and Flames striker Chiukepo Msowoya favour when he bagged a brace to beat his closest challenger Innocent Bukosi.Bukosi who had 14 goals hoped to bag the top scorers title with Chiukepo who had 13 needing to score more than two goals at difficult Civo United.
Chiukepo,a former Orlando pirates and Escom player earlier told Soka25east that he was not under any pressure despite being a goal short of Bokosi’s tally.Chiukepo also won the same fete with Escom at the same stadium.
For being the top scorer,Chiukepo who is in PSL’s Golden Arrows radar will be feted with a whooping Malawian Kwacha 100,000
Big Bullets will represent the country in the CAF Champions League,however it is not clear if they will participate as they are not listed in the fixtures that were released by CAF.
