Mohatso Zongololo ensured Epac FC survived in the Malawian top tier for the 9th consecutive season with a hard fought 2-1 win over Dezda Young.
The win saw Epac leapfrog Mzuni FC on the 11th position with 30 points with Dezda dropping to 13th with same points as Mzuni but with an inferior goal difference.
Before the epic duel,Epac FC owner Josiah Banda promised the boys K50,000 each should they get maximum points as the points could help them survive.
After the win,Banda fullfilled his promise and awarded the said amount to the players.
The win also effectively condemned Dezda Young to the lower tier in just their first season joining Airborne Rangers and Fisd Wizards.
The new teams promoted to the top flight include Max Bullets from Southern region,Chirumba Barracks from Nothern Region and Dwangwa United from Central Province.
Max Bullets participation in the league is however uncertain with its owner Maxwel Kapanda suggesting a sale if he does not secure sponsorship in time.
